Hortense Miller Garden
This beautiful mature natural garden is maintained by volunteers and docents and is to be the gift of Hortense Miller to the city of Laguna Beach to be held in perpetuity for everyone to enjoy. Our club is committed to an annual contribution to support this garden.

Forest Avenue Pocket Garden
This garden, located in the Laguna Beach downtown area on Forest Avenue, is one of our garden club's Civic Beautification projects. This pocket garden, or plaza, was originally established in 1984 by Walter von Gremp with a vision of a European sitting garden in the middle of town. The garden has been maintained by our club since 1999. All work is done weekly by members to renew and maintain the existing park area, that is enjoyed by so many. In September 2005, it was awarded a commendation from the Laguna Beach City Beautification Committee.  If you are interested in helping with this project please call Pat Randel.

Arbor Day Tree Planting
California's Arbor day is in March - commemorating Luther Burbank's birthday. Our club celebrates Arbor day by providing a tree and participating in the ceremonial planting in a community park.

Civic Beautification
Our major civic beautification projects are the Forest Avenue Pocket Park and beautiful memorial Garden By the Sea at Main Beach in Laguna Beach. The Garden By the Sea is funded by contributions from our club to the city and individual contributions from club members made in memory of departed loved ones.

Penny Pines Plantation
A collection is taken at our meetings from members which is a contribution toward the total cost of purchasing a $68.00 reforestation plantation in the Cleveland National Forest. To date we own 53 sections through our club's contributions.

Niguel Botanical Preserve
This organization maintains a preservation area in Crown Valley Community Park in Laguna Niguel, California, with a greenhouse and other facilities. The club makes an annual contribution to the Preserve.

Memorial Day Services
A ceremony is held each year at the flag pole above the ocean at Heisler Park; we participate and provide a wreath in memory of those lost in the service of our country.

Sherman Library and Gardens
A long-standing, respected civic institution in Corona Del Mar. The organization provides lectures and demonstrations on horticulture, flower arranging, environmental issues, and many other gardening subjects within the beautiful and well-maintained gardens. Several of the Laguna Beach Garden Club members act as docents and our contribution goes toward the upkeep of the gardens.

UC Irvine Arboretum
The University of California Irvine maintains an extensive arboretum that merits support by garden clubs in the area. It encourages the support of individuals as docents.  Our donation goes toward general maintenance of the gardens. Our members can also be volunteers in the garden.

The Theodore Payne Foundation
This foundation was established for the purpose of preserving California's natural environmental heritage of wildflowers and native plants. The foundation also supplies seeds of California wildflowers that are grown on the property.  Our club makes an annual donation to support this project.

Saddleback College Scholarships
Beginning in 1999, several annual scholarships have been presented by the Laguna Beach Garden Club to Saddleback College students to further their studies in the field of horticulture and landscape design and/or environmental studies.

Blind Children's Sensory Garden
This garden in Santa Ana was designed by members of the Orange County District Garden Clubs to give sight-impaired young children an experience with a garden through the sense of smell and feel.  Our club makes an annual donation to support this garden.
