Gate & Garden Walking Tour of  North Laguna

Description:
This year's self-guided walking tour offers an opportunity to stroll through private gardens along a route through North Laguna on several quiet streets above Coast Highway.  Your $35 ticket includes admittance to the nine featured gardens, tour brochure (with map), bus transportation to the start of the tour, refreshments, and one complimentary raffle ticket for an opportunity to win fabulous prizes.   

A map in the tour brochure guides ticket-holders to the selected gardens, and directs attention to points of historic interest along the mostly downhill route, which covers just over half a mile of paved city streets.  The brochure includes some history of the area as well as specific information about each of the featured gardens. Garden volunteers will be available in each garden to answer questions. 

This year's neighborhood north of downtown is dotted with early homes and mature gardens.  Many of the gardens selected for the tour are hidden behind high hedges.  There are several large lots rich with personal or Laguna history.  Intricate jewelbox gardens, sprawling lawns, and cottage charmers will all be on display.

Come Prepared to Walk:
As this is a walking tour, it is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes and a wide-brimmed hat to protect you from the hot May sun.  Although the recommended route will be mostly downhill, participants should feel confident on uneven garden paths/pavements, changes in elevation, walking up and down steps, narrow paths, and on streets which have no sidewalks.  To enjoy this tour, you should feel comfortable walking as far as a mile and being on your feet for 90-120 minutes. 

Please allow at least two hours to enjoy all of the gardens.  Ticket holders must check in and start the tour by 2PM. Tickets will have full information on where to park and check in.

Refreshments and restrooms will be available. 


Use of Tour Funds:   
The garden tour is the Laguna Beach Garden Club's main fundraiser.  Proceeds provide financial support for the many environmental, educational, and civic beautification projects of the club.  A recent project created the water-wise garden at the Laguna Beach Historical Society house in downtown Laguna Beach.   

Ticket Information:
Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased in advance.  

No tickets will be sold the day of the tour.

To make the tour more enjoyable for everyone,  ticket sales are limited every year. This year we are selling only 500 tickets.
We expect to sell out before tour day - as we have for the past 5 years.

Please note that the tour is held regardless of weather - rain or shine.

Each tour ticket includes one complimentary raffle ticket. You may buy additional raffle tickets before taking the tour - you may be a winner by the time you finish the tour!!
