Landscape architect and Laguna resident Bob Borthwick will be our Laguna Beach Garden Club guest speaker on September 10th. The title of his presentation will be: “Our World is a Garden“. He has been involved in many projects in Laguna Beach and has been appointed to numerous City committees and task groups

This presentation will focus on three of his award-winning past oceanfront projects, including the Avalon Downtown Waterfront on Catalina Island, the 2.4 mile San Clemente Beach Trail, and the current phase of the Crystal Cove Cottages Historic District in Newport Coast.

In 2015, Mr. Borthwick received the Harry Lawrence Award from the Laguna Beach Beautification Council, and in 2016 the American Society of Landscape Architects Public Stewardship Award for his pro-bono work in preserving Aliso Creek and Laguna Creek. Laguna Beach projects include the recent DeWitt Property / Laguna Creek restoration in Laguna Canyon, Alta Laguna Park, and portions of Heisler Park, among others.

Until further notice we will be observing the following COVID-19 mitigation measures:  Masks will be required inside Tankersley Hall and seating will be socially distanced. Refreshment goodies will be individually wrapped to be eaten outside or enjoyed at home. Please bring any liquid beverages from home and plan on enjoying them outside.
